Never Ever Disappointed

For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

                                                                                                              Romans 10:11-13

We will end the week with three things:

(1) Whoever believes (trusts) in Jesus will never be disappointed. When we trust Christ to dwell in our hearts by faith (Ephesians 3:17a), when we believe that God will reward us as we seek Him (Hebrews 11:6), when our salvation and righteousness is received from God by faith (John 3:18, Romans 4:5), we will be able to live a life full of spiritual strength and stability. Sadly, it is common for people to have regrets (especially as they get older), but as you dedicate your life to and live for Jesus, you can be sure that you will never be disappointed.

(2) God now makes no distinction between Jew (Israel) and Greek (the rest of the world). Jesus is the propitiation for the whole world (1 John 2:2) and everyone who asks will receive, and to the one who seeks, he will find, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened (Matthew 7:8). God is abounding in riches for all who call on His name. The separation between God and man has been dissolved through the cross of Jesus. He has become our Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5) and God now desires all mankind to be save and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). God is not one to show partiality rather whoever believes in Him has forgiveness of sins (Acts 10:34, 43). Which brings us to the last truth.

(3) Whoever calls of the name of the Lord will be saved (v 13). If you were to read the very next verse in this passage (Romans 10:14), you would discover a rational and practical look at why believers should share their experience in Jesus with others. How is someone going to call on God to be saved if they don’t believe in Him in the first place? How can they believe the good news of Jesus if they have never heard about it? And how are they supposed to hear about it, unless someone tells them? Some translations use the word “preacher” in this verse, but the word is really referring to anyone who will proclaim the truth and is not specific to someone who stands in a pulpit. Let’s end on this thought. When I see a really great movie, one of the first things I want to do is tell someone else to go see it. When I eat in a really fantastic restaurant, I recommend it to others as well. But when God saves me and blesses me beyond anything I could ever deserve, am I quick to tell someone else? What about you? Share the good news of Jesus with someone today. If that is way out of your comfort zone, share this site with them! Next week…love!
