A New Opportunity

Well the New Year is upon us and with a new year comes new opportunity. This is a chance to reset, reprioritize, and rethink our lives. It is an opportunity to put the past behind us, and reach toward the future. I would like to challenge you in two areas: prayer and reading God’s Word (the Bible). It has been said that prayer is talking to God and studying the Bible is listening to Him. I can’t think of two greater or more satisfying areas of life than this. This page has been designed to assist you in your walk with God and with His Son Jesus Christ. Whether you’ve been a believer for decades or you’re just getting started in your Christian life, this page will provide you with opportunities to grow spiritually. For the month of January, we will be praying through a powerful prayer found in Ephesians 3:14-21. Here is a portion of that prayer:

that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God (v 16-19).

This prayer contains truths about strength, faith, love, knowledge, and fullness of life, all necessities for believers. I invite you to join us as we personalize this prayer, asking God for an abundance of these things in our own lives. To get the most from your time spent with each passage of scripture, I recommend these five steps: (1) Read it (2) Memorize it (3) Meditate on it (4) Pray it and (5) Believe it! For those that find memorization difficult, I recommend that you post the passages of scripture in a prominent place in your home (refrigerator, bathroom mirror, etc.) This will allow you the opportunity to meditate on the passage as often as you like. I hope you will join us on this monthlong journey, seeking the heart of God and enjoying favor with Him!
