Spiritual Strength

…that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man…                                                                                                                                                                                                          Ephesians 3:16

I hope 2018 finds you celebrating life in Jesus Christ. This week, we will be focusing on praying for spiritual strength. So often I hear talk of praying God’s will. Well, praying scripture is a tremendous way on which to focus your prayer life, because the truths found in the Bible are always God’s will for our lives. In other words, praying scripture allows us to acknowledge God for who He is, believe Him for what He has promised, and rejoice in Him for His caring faithfulness over our lives. Believers in Jesus are to worship in the Spirit (John 4:24), pray in the Spirit (Romans 8:26), and live life in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16). So what better request with which to begin a new year than asking for strength…spiritual, supernatural strength that goes beyond comprehension. This strength comes directly from God, through His Spirit and gives us power, which is ability. This ability, because it comes from the Spirit of God, allows us to react to the world differently than those without God. With God as our Father, Jesus as our Savior and Mediator, and the Spirit as our Helper, Christians can take on the issues of the day with confidence and assurance. Praying biblical truth is powerful and effective, so as you pray, be tenacious and be expectant of what God is going to do. If you are on the believing side of John 3:16, than Ephesians 3:16 is yours to claim and enjoy. Take some time right now and ask God to strengthen you with power, by His Spirit, within your heart and life.
